Neptune Navigate: District Digital Citizenship Software

Neptune Navigate is a digital citizenship curriculum designed to help students safely and responsibly navigate the online world. The platform offers grade-specific lessons that cover key topics such as:

  • Cybersecurity: Teaching students how to protect their personal information online.
  • Digital Safety: Addressing issues like online privacy, identity protection, and avoiding online threats.
  • Social Media Awareness: Educating students on responsible use of social media, understanding digital footprints, and avoiding the pitfalls of oversharing or inappropriate content.
  • Digital Literacy: Fostering critical thinking skills when engaging with online content, including spotting misinformation.
  • Online Etiquette and Responsibility: Encouraging respectful behavior and kindness in online interactions.

Neptune Navigate integrates well with schools by offering age-appropriate, interactive content. It’s designed to help schools comply with standards like CIPA (Children's Internet Protection Act) and prepare students to be thoughtful, ethical digital citizens. Schools and educators can track progress and engagement through its platform.

  • Resources to Help Our Kids Thrive
    In a new article on childmind.org, we weigh the positive impacts of screens on neurodivergent kids — including social connection, emotional grounding, and learning opportunities. And we look at the negatives, risks for things like cyberbullying and addiction. We offer tips to help parents find the right balance for each child. 

    Bark - Parental Controls for Families
    Bark is a digital safety platform designed to help schools and parents monitor and protect students as they navigate online spaces. For school districts like Brenham ISD, Bark provides monitoring and alerting services that track potential issues across various digital communication channels and platforms students use, including emails, documents, chats, and more. Its AI-based system scans for signals of cyberbullying, online predators, threats of violence, and mental health concerns like depression and self-harm.

This helps parents stay proactive in protecting their children and provides them with resources to address sensitive issues. Bark also promotes digital safety education and offers guides and resources for families to support safer online habits.
